The Purchase
Here is my current project Jeep, as I purchased it. The frame has been patched with new steel in the usual places, and of course, that diamond plate is hiding a lot of rust. It's New England, though, and rust is inevitable. This marks the third Jeep I've owned. My last two were both daily-drivers, which comes with certain limitations. I couldn't risk them being out of service for any significant length of time, since I relied on them to get me to work. This one is just for fun, so I can tackle more projects myself, and not worry about being stuck walking if I encounter some unexpected delays. I bought a YJ specifically. My first Jeep was a YJ, and it's been my favorite model ever since. Unfortunately, the newest YJs are still 26 years old, so there aren't many available and the ones that are tend to require a fair bit of work. This is really just a blog for myself to record the work I've done, but if you're here, you're welcome to read along!
